Description:

BASIC FUNCTION: Under the general supervision of the County Auditor and Chief Deputy Auditor, conducts a variety of technical functions involving the preparation, implementation, and monitoring of the San Juan County budget; conducts budget analyses; prepares and analyzes revenue projections; prepares budget reports; prepares budget amendments; provides budgetary support to County departments; and performs other related duties as assigned. Assists with capital projects management and with cash flow management and projection.

Qualifications

BUDGET ANALYST – MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in accounting, finance, business, or related field, plus two years’ experience in accounting and budgeting work, preferably in a governmental setting. Certification as a Public Accountant (CPA) preferred. Requires a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and with personal computer file systems and networks, and familiarity with financial management systems. Must be able to organize workloads and meet mandatory deadlines and to communicate with County Council, County Manager, Elected Officials, Department Heads, special purpose district officials, and staff/employees.
