Job Description
The City of Liberty Lake is currently looking for a Finance Director. Liberty Lake is a safe, family-friendly and engaged community. A. Performing all accounting activities of office including billing, receiving, receipting, banking, and accounting for all City monies.
B. Monitoring all cash handling procedures, including the purchase order system.
C. Supervising and participating in the preparation and submittal of reports and applications of payment to federal and state agencies.
D. Supervising disbursement of expenditures by claims and redemption by treasurer’s check.
E. Maintaining general ledgers and subsidiary records.
F. Preparing financial and budgetary reports and advising the Mayor or City Administrator designee.
G. Investing City funds in investments approved by the Mayor or City Administrator to affect a maximum return to the City.
H. Supervising the rate and redemption of City bonds.
I. Supervising L.I.D. assessments, prepayment, and bond payment notices and collection.
J. Bond calls and redeem when monies are available.
K. Maintaining complete records of transactions.
L. Coordinating the development of the annual budget.
M. Establishing and supervising the accomplishment of procedures relative to payroll preparation and the completion of payroll reports.
N. Maintaining personnel payroll legal records.
O. Controlling data processing, including the operation of a computer system.
P. Preparing application for state or federally funded grants or projects as assigned.
Q. Attend Council Meetings and a variety of other special interest meetings as required.
R. Provide oversight and supervision of City IT functions.
S. Oversight of Golf Course operations related to the Pro Shop.
T. Perform other duties as assigned by the Mayor or City Administrator.
U. The Finance Director is expected to perform all duties and responsibilities as described, in a professional and appropriate manner that is reflective of the Mission, Vision and Values of the City of Liberty Lake. In addition to these expectations, other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

Primary Duties


Required Experience:
*Four (4) years increasingly responsible experience in a professional accounting position.

Required Credentials:
*Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
*Possession of a valid driver’s license, or the ability to obtain one within one month.
