The City of Shelton is accepting applications for a Finance Specialist – The person in this position will perform a variety of analytical financial and budgetary duties as well as assist with a variety of functions in the Finance Department. The salary range for this full time position is $4,139.00 – $5,381.00 per month DOQ.
Duties include developing and preparing financial reports and documents, forecasting revenue and expenditures and impact to budget. Assist annual budget preparation and monitoring including supplemental budget adjustments, input and reconciliation. Coordinate with city personnel to provide budget updates and assist departments with grant reporting. The individual in this position must have the ability to think in a creative and innovative fashion, with ability to adapt to change and to apply new solutions to problems, and have the ability to understand and interpret federal, state and local regulations.
An Associate’s Degree or business college equivalent in accounting with emphasis on governmental accounting and a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in accounting; or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training that would provide the level of knowledge and ability required for the position.
