What you will be doing:
You will have opportunities to learn and grow while making a difference for our customers, your team, and our agency. As a member of the DES Finance team, you are part of a professional accounting group who provides accurate financial information for our customers inside and outside of DES. On our team, you will act as primary support to staff in various financial capacities and perform payment processing and routine transactions related to Accounts Payable for multiple small state agency customers.

In accounting, attention to detail is critical to both customer satisfaction and our success, the work you produce has to be accurate. We work under multiple state regulations, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), agency policies and procedures, and the Office of Financial Management’s (OFM) State Administrative & Accounting Manual (SAAM). The ability to learn and follow these guidelines is critical to our work.

Some of what you will do include:
Process vendor payments accurately and timely following established procedures.
Prepare, verify, input, and analyze various Accounts Payable transactions while interpreting fiscal policies and requirements to ensure compliance with state regulations and agency procedures.
Process travel reimbursements and travel related documents.
Research and review vendor invoices, statements, and accounts.
High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
A minimum of 10 quarter hours or 6 semester hours of accounting credits.
At least one (1) year of fiscal experience.
