Job Title:  Office Administrator of Finance
Salary:  $70,000 – $90,000 DOE
Entity:  King County Fire District 20

Under the direction of the Fire Chief, the Office Administrator of Finance will provide administrative duties of above-average difficulty in the following areas of responsibility:

Human Resources
Budgeting and Forecasting
Administration Assistance

Primary Duties

Human Resources

Responsible for payroll and all related items including the analysis, reconciliation, preparation, and input of payroll data.
Process monthly, quarterly and annual tax reporting
Establish new employees/volunteers in payroll system verifying accuracy and completeness of employment paperwork and ensuring compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws as well as contracts and Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA)
Maintain and update personnel files
Ensure compliance with all Analyze HR rules and implications
Analyze CBA and implement changes and updates, if needed

Budgeting and Forecasting

Provide financial forecasting and budget reporting to Fire Chief and Commissioners
Monitor budget compliance
Primary contact for State Auditors office both for Annual Report and audits
Participate in the development of the annual budget


Process and reconcile transport billing; manage GEMT process
Reconcile funds with King County Finance Reports
Provide balanced Treasurer’s Report monthly
Process all vendor payments
Responsible for reconciliation of bank accounts and petty cash


Apply for and manage grants
Assist with Public Record Requests
Provide backup for the Administrative Assistant position
Responsible for records retention and destruction compliance
Assist in preparation of packets for Commissioner meetings
Provide support to staff, administration, Board of Commissioners, as needed


High school diploma or GED. Bachelor’s Degree desirable.
Minimum five years’ experience in an administrative support, payroll, or human resource assistant position. Government setting preferred.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
MUST possess a valid driver’s license.
Must be able to successfully complete and pass a background check & credit check.
